Water Lettuce

Water Lettuce are floating water plants and are sometimes called water cabbage.  These floating aquatic plants are among the most effective natural filtration plants, so these pond floaters help control algae by taking nutrients out of the pond water that would otherwise feed the algae. 

Water lettuce prefer water temperatures of 65 degrees and higher, so they are considered tropical aquatic plants.  These pond floaters should be acclimated to sunny ponds slowly or else the foliage will burn.  They are very fast growing plants that can benefit from additional fertilizer (we offer Throw Tabs) to keep them lush and green.
