Underwater Lights

One of the most spectacular effects in water gardening is the addition of underwater lights to a pond.  Relaxing by a softly lit pond on a warm summer evening can make you wonder why you didn't add the pond lights sooner! We enjoy them so much we created an annual evening event in August years ago for our local retail customers to attend.

Underwater or submersible pond lights, can be used with clear lens or various colored lenses.  Pond lights are usually 20 watts (but you may use 10 watt lights for very small ponds) and require a 12 volt transformer.  Some underwater lights are sold with a transformer and some are sold separately. We offer the underwater lights, replacement bulbs and transformers as described in the individual product  briefs below.

Pond lights may have either halogen or LED bulbs.  Halogen bulbs typically need to be replaced every 1-2 years but are very economical.  LED bulbs are energy efficient, longer lasting, relatively cool to the touch and are becoming more economical every year.

In addition to underwater pond lights, you may also choose floating pond lights as a lovely pond accessory.  We have floating lights that give the illusion of a clear, crystal sphere upon the water-it is quite elegant!  For the more contemporary crowd, or psychedelically inclined, we have floating solar lights that change colors at night for a chameleon like effect-they are great for parties or family reunions.  For water gardens that are deeper (3-4 feet), we carry an underwater pond lantern that illuminates a large section of the pond for a stunning visual effect.
