Pond Plant Care

Proper pond plant care involves using pond fertilizer, or aquatic plant food, and appropriate aquatic plant pots.  All pond plants need fertilizer but it must be applied so that only the plant receives the fertilizer and not the pond water or else algae will benefit as well.  We offer a time-release fish safe fertilizer that we have used for years.  The fertilizer can come in either tablet or spike form and is simply pushed approximately 3 inches into the soil.  We also carry fertilizer throw tabs for floating plants such as water hyacinth.

The aquatic plant containers are offered in either a mesh or solid (no holes) pot and they all come in various shapes and diameters.  We also have specific pots for lilies and lotus that are strong and durable. 

Pond plant care also involves pruning old leaves off and occassionally spraying for insects such as aphids so check out our products below.
